The End of Freedom is Upon Us!
Patriots,
An earth shattering ruling by the Supreme Court the past week has started the collapse of what little democracy and freedom we had left in this country. In a landmark ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday struck down laws that banned corporations from using their own money to support or oppose candidates for public office. Now let this settle in for a moment. Coorporations will now be allowed to use unlimited resources to support the candidates of their choice through massive advertisement campaigns. As of now, money cannot be sent directly to the candidate, but what does it matter. If a corporation can bombard the American people with massive campaigns in all media outlets the job gets accomplished. Can we honestly say that we as individuals have a voice in our democracy? If we still have a voice it will be drowned out by the massive campaigns of the corporation. It is already common knowledge that politicans have to ” sell out” in order to get elected. Many of us, including myself hung on to the belief that there were still good people in Washington who could rise above the heavy influence of money and do the right thing and stand by the people. That is no more! The effect will be immediate given that we are currently in a election year. Prepare yourself for huge campaigns by billion dollar corporations to back the politician of their choice. You think the Healthcare Reform issue was a debacle … standby!
Think of the politicians like NASCAR drivers. When they step out of their cars covered in advertisements by their sponsors smiling and waving. ” Hey Joe, I love the Wal-mart, Johnson & Johnson, Merck ticket don’t you? Yeah, Palin looks good in pink doesn’t she?”
There is no democracy in America today. We are fooled by an illusion. We are controlled by Corporate America and everyone knows it, but what can we do? Here is a list I recommend for action:
1) Get a copy of the Constitution, focus on the Bill of Rights and read it. In fact, Keep one with you at all times. Read it as a family before dinner. Make sure your kids know what it says. Talk about it with your nieghbors.
2) Do not support large multi national corporations - even if it costs more shop at smaller locally owned stores. Review every aspect of your life: Grocery’s, banking, car maintenance realize where your dollars are going and who they are supporting.
3) Get out of debt - NOW! If you have no debt you have more rights.
4) Get to know your neighbors and form support groups. When things get crazy they will be your eyes and ears. You will be theirs.
5) Exercise your rights now! They all may be gone soon enough.
Don’t bother to call your Congressman. He or she has already been bought and has their agenda in front of them. You are not on the list. You don’t matter anymore.
